Is is Christmas time already?

Where in the world did this year go? Caroline just turned 2--yes 2--this week!! We are celebrating her birthday tomorrow with a Elmo party. Poor girl might be disappointed when she keeps asking for a "Pablo" (aka Backyardigan) party. The Dollar Tree only carried Sesame Street!! Ha ha :) She got a new princess ride on toy for the house. She LOVES it, as does Madelyn.

We have been busy with preschool and dance...imagine that! Caroline loves taking Madelyn to school so she can see her friends, which just happen to be M's classmates.

Caroline has had quite a few accidents recently---knots on her head and the most recent---a black eye :(. She is so busy, active, unafraid, and just a dare devil all around. She keeps us on our toes!

Madelyn loves school and has been to many birthday parties this year. She's at the hockey game with Daddy right now. She was more excited about not having rest time :). She is so ready for Christmas and wakes up bright and early to find the "Elf"...(Elf on the Shelf). He's been seen hiding in our stockings, glass dish, on Santa's shoulder, sitting on the cabinet, and camping out on the stairs. Fun times!

Summertime...

I can't believe it's been almost 3 months since I've last written! Madelyn finished preschool and today was her last day of dance for the summer. We have several things planned for the summer.

We are headed to the Great Wolf Lodge June 24-26 and then shortly after that she has Disney Dance Camp! Later in August she'll do another Disney camp at the YMCA. We'll have our annual beach trip in September! I am so ready for that!

Caroline is now 18 months old (crazy, huh?) and is all over the place!! The girl doesn't sit still :) She loves to chase Madelyn everywhere! She is quite fast, too. She just had her 18 mo. check up and weighed 23 lbs and was 30 inches long. She says several words....mama, dada, Ma (for Madelyn), Nonna, Papa, Paw-Paw, Nana, cracker, hot, socks, side (for outside).

Madelyn is asking for playdates almost daily...this is what happens I guess when school is out. She is a big help with Caroline and loves to play with her. Of course there are times when she doesn't want her near her toys, but that goes with the territory!

There isn't much else going on in the Mamo household, which is a good thing I suppose. We're trying to stay busy during the summer and hanging out with dear friends.

Madelyn's 4 year check up

Madelyn finally had her 4 year check up today, although a month late! She weighed in at 34 lbs and was 37 inches tall. Yes, she is in the 4% for height! Dr. R thinks she'll be shorter like myself---go figure--no surprise! She thinks Caroline will be taller than Madelyn. She did great and didn't receive any vaccines this year. She could have, but we decided to make this a pleasant visit! Caroline was the climber in the room and babbled up a storm. Dr. R said Madelyn is going to be a lawyer by the way she talks so much! Ha ha! She didn't stop for a minute in there.

Today is mine and Danny's 7th anniversary!! Wow, time flies :). We are going to celebrate by going to the Grove Park Inn in Asheville soon. It's amazing how far we have come and now have 2 beautiful, precious children.

Alright, it's time to go put these 2 gals down for rest time.

We thought we had a walker...

Caroline turned 15 months this past week and had her check up on Tuesday. She also took her first steps the same day! We thought for sure she'd be cruising more this week, but not so much! Also, Madelyn started walking the day of her 15 month check up as well. She did great at the doctor and weighed in at 22.4 lbs and 30 inches long! She is about 2 lbs smaller than Madelyn was at this age, but 3/4 inches longer. I can tell in her clothes that she is a little taller.

The weather has been fabulous this weekend! It hit 82 degrees today and was awesome. We bought new patio furniture and blinds so we have enjoyed hanging out there. Even Madelyn enjoys sitting out there with us. We've been enjoying playing outside all weekend and introduced Caroline to the sand box :).

We don't have much going on this week except Madelyn has dance and school. I'm trying to find her camps for the summer for a couple of weeks.

Can the sickness end? Please???

I thought last week was behind us and we're moving on with healthy vibes....but, that's not happening!! Caroline is still sick, unfortunately :(. She now has an ear infection in one ear and is still vomiting. We think that is coming from the antibiotic, though. Madelyn is better after her round of it on Friday/Saturday. She must have felt fine because she was up at 5:40 this morning! Caroline is still upstairs upset b/c she doesn't want to nap, but she's oh so tired!

Today we had our porch screened in, which is awesome! We're looking forward to sitting outside in the spring! Madelyn loved watching the men work! Nonna took her to dance today since I coudn't leave with Caroline. We're a little stir crazy here in the Mamo house. I think I'm going to try to get her out of the house tomorrow to go somewhere even if we just walk around a store! :)

Caroline goes for her 15 month check up next Tuesday, followed by an eye appointment the following week for her hemangioma. Madelyn also has her 4 year check up in a couple of weeks! I'm anxious to see how much she weighs and her height.

Not much else is going on these days except for trying to keep everyone healthy! We hope this passes soon....very soon :). We're looking forward to March and some warmer weather, hopefully!

The chaos in our house...

This has been one heck of a week! Madelyn had her bowling party this past Sunday and it was a blast. I am so thankful the kids didn't break their toes dropping bowling balls on the floor! She loved it and really enjoyed having her friends with her! On her actual birthday we took her to CFA for lunch b/c that is what she wanted. She also missed school because of a runny nose/cough. That night, Nonna, Papa, Uncle Marc, Aunt Miss, and Paw-Paw came over for dinner and cake. She was so overtired by the time we cut the cake it was comical and she cried throughout the whole thing.

Fast forward to Tuesday and Caroline threw up in her bed a couple of times. It is now Friday and she's still sick. It is not fun seeing your baby so miserable! It does look like she is turning a corner finally, but we'll see. Danny also came home yesterday not feeling well.

I also started a new part time job at Gymboree once or twice a month and my first day was this past Wednesday. It was fun, but I was tired! I didn't get home until after 12:30!

Yesterday we had a playset built for the girls. It is great and we are so excited! Next week we are screening in our porch.

Tomorrow we head to High Point for a skating party with Jalen. That should be fun! I'll have to post pics later!

Our "baby" is almost 4!

In just a few days Madelyn turns 4! I cannot believe it. She is so excited about her upcoming birthday. We'll celebrate Sunday by having a bowling party with preschool friends and her best friend, Claire. On Monday I'll take cookies to preschool and we'll take her out to lunch at Red Robin. Later that night we'll have Nonna and Papa over for dinner/dessert. She wanted a Tinkerbell cake, so that it is!

Caroline has started standing alone lately and is pretty close to walking. It's so much fun to watch her. She's such a ham and Madelyn really enjoys playing with her. Caroline doesn't always agree with this and will cry at her or hit on her. Hmmm, sisterly love!

Madelyn is with Nonna today making Valentines cookies (homemade at that)! She takes her every Thursday so this gives Caroline and I some quiet time together. I love spending one on one time with each girl.

We've had awesome spring like weather lately---in the high 60's and low 70's. We've enjoyed the park several days this week! Madelyn had her preschool Valentine Party yesterday, so we joined her for that. The kids were adorable and made flowers, had cookies, and exchanged Valentine cards.

Danny and I will go out this weekend for Valentine's Day and Nonna will babysit! Yay! We'll probably just go to the movies, which will be nice!

Where has the time gone?

I really wish I was better at blogging! It is so hard for me to remember to do it and my pictures aren't loaded onto my laptop, so that makes it harder!

Caroline turned 1 in December and is a riot! She is so different from Madelyn and we love her personality. She is quite the climber and loves adventure, which is nothing like Madelyn. Caroline is into everything and I really can't turn my head from her. She's already climbed the stairs alone, turned over Madelyn's nightstand (thank goodness she wasn't hurt), and many more things. She says several words, but the one that steals my heart is "Mama". She loves to play with Madelyn and pull her hair, which we are working on that :). She is a great sleeper and even better napper than her big sis.

Madelyn turns 4 in a couple of weeks and we'll celebrate by having a bowling party! We also registered her for the 4 year old/transition class for next year and she'll go 5 days. She is a smart gal and is starting to show interest in reading skills. She is very curious about beginning/ending sounds, which as a teacher I love :)!! She can make rhyming words and is starting to sound out simple 3 letter words. She writes her name, although she'd rather not, but she can do it! She loves to play her favorite Wii game, Mario Kart. The girl beats me!

She loves playing with Caroline and is anxious to go in her room in the mornings. They both love when Danny gets home at night from work.

We stay busy during the week by going to playdates, lunch with friends, especially Claire, and Madelyn going to preschool. Madelyn is still in dance (ballet/tap) and will be in her first recital in June! I hear she is wearing a monkey leotard...hmmm???

Madelyn loves the Wii!

Sweet Caroline
